Andy Vs. Brian

Bringing cinema’s greatest questions to the round table
in a winner-takes-all battle.

This Week’s Battle: What Sci-Fi weapon is better to protect you against an alien attack? The Fifth Element’s ZF-1? Or Men In Black’s Noisy Cricket?

Sure, both of these weapons are better than anything we currently have in the real world. But as usual with Andy vs. Brian, there can only be one winner. Which of these two guns will destroy the other?

B:
If I’m ever tasked with defending the galaxy from impending destruction by the forces of evil, I think the first thing I’ll do is pick up the Swiss Army knife of
firearms from my local Wal-Mart – The ZF-1.  The standard model comes fully equipped too.  I’m talking flamethrower, freeze-gun, rocket launcher, net gun, AND a replay feature.

A:
Ok yes, this is true. But what if the mission called for discretion and incognito action? As far as we know, some Alien races might be sneaky. So their invasions would be on the low down. Walking around with the ZF-1? That’s about as tactful as sending an elephant to spy in a glass house.

The Noisy Cricket is tiny. It’s portable. But that doesn’t mean it won’t cause a big BOOM!

Plus, let’s not forget about the ZF-1’s self destruct button. Useful in an enemy alien’s brainless hands? Sure. But easy to make that mistake yourself? Incredibly.

B:
There’s a reason why Agent J didn’t want the Cricket

…It’s just not a weapon of choice for someone tasked with saving the world.  Sure, it causes a big explosion, in fact, that’s ALL it causes…so much for stealth.  You want stealth? ZF-1 Net Gun please!

A:

I don’t see what’s so bad about that recoil. To be perfectly honest, that looks like a hell of a way to make an exit. Who wouldn’t want to leave a party like that?! That’s Almost as cool as leaving every party like this.

And you’re planning on stopping an alien invasion with a net? Why? Because aliens are fish now? I feel like a well placed Noisy Cricket blast in a crowded area would be much more effective.

What do you guys think? Which weapon would be better?
Who the heck are Andy and Brian?

Oh the times, they are a-changin’
