Alec Guinness always recalled the experience of making the movie as a bad one, and consistently claimed that it was his idea to have his character killed in the first film, so he “wouldn’t have to carry on saying these rubbish lines”.

Gonna Be A Good Week For Star Wars Fanboys!

Today marks the 68th birthday of Writer/Director George Lucas. Born on May 14th, 1944, Lucas created one of the biggest franchises in cinematic history, as well as the visual effects company “Industrial Light and Magic”. Lucas’ Star Wars films have already changed the world of the sci-fi genre, and now it seems that it’s legacy will continue to grow with Disney’s Studio’s new experience.

Thanks to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you too can be frozen like Han Solo in The Empire Strikes Back! Well… at least a replica of you.

A new experience coming from Disney’s Hollywood Studios allows you to create a model figure of yourself frozen in carbonate just like the iconic image of Harrison Ford’s Han Solo. Sounds like an idea that will make many fanboys’ dreams come true!

The process involves several cameras that take a 3D model of you and replicate it onto an 8 inch figurine. The experience opens officially on Friday May 18th. You can read more about it here!

Seems like a great start to a great birthday weekend. Happy Birthday, George Lucas!
